1. Booking & Payment for Overnight Stays

  • Deposit & full payment requirements: A card will be required to secure the booking, but payment will be taken on arrival (unless on an advanced payment rate).
  • Accepted payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Cash (ID will be required).
  • Cancellation/No-show & refund policy: You are able to cancel up to 48 hours prior to arrival (unless on an advanced payment rate where it is non-refundable). Payment taken on arrival. If you cancel within 48 hours, or are a no-show, you will be charged in full for the first night of your stay.

2. Check-In & Check-Out for Overnight Stays

  • Standard check-in & check-out times: Our standard check out time is 11am and standard check in time is 3pm, though you can pay for an early check in and late check out.
  • ID or card requirements at check-in: ID will be needed if paying in cash.

3. Guest Conduct & Behaviour

  • Expected behaviour in public areas: We kindly ask our guests to be respectful of other guests enjoying their visit. If we feel the need, we will intervene.
  • Noise policies: We kindly ask our guests to be respectful of other guests enjoying their visit. If we feel the need, we will intervene. 
  • Smoking & drug use restrictions: We have designated smoking areas outside of the hotel, and we expect our guests to use these areas. Under no circumstances are guests permitted to be under the influence or possess drugs – we will ask them to remove themselves from the premises and we may get law enforcement involved should the circumstance call for it.

4. Damages & Liability

  • Guest responsibility: Any damage caused to hotel property, whether intentional or accidental, may result in charges to the payment card on file or an invoice for the cost of repairs.
  • Significant damage & revenue loss: In cases of severe damage requiring extensive repairs, guests may be held liable for any loss of revenue incurred while the affected room or area is out of service.
  • Families & children: Parents and guardians are responsible for any damage caused by children during their stay. Where necessary, the hotel reserves the right to charge for repairs or replacements.
  • Pet owners: Guests bringing dogs/pets are liable for any damage caused by their pets. Any necessary repairs or deep cleaning required as a result may incur additional charges.

  • Age restrictions for solo check-ins: You must be 18+ to be able to check-in and stay solo

6. Dogs & Pets

  • Rules for bringing pets: We permit up to two dogs per bedroom, if you have further requirements you must speak to our reception team prior to your arrival. You must let us know you’re bringing a pet with you prior to arrival.

7. Food & Drink

  • Bringing outside food & alcohol: You are not permitted to bring any alcohol not purchased from the Penventon directly, unless agreed upon by management – such as for an event and you have paid corkage. 
  • Room service & minibar terms: We have a tray charge – please contact us for the price.

  • The hotel’s responsibility for lost or stolen items: The hotel cannot accept responsibility for lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings. Guests are advised to keep valuables secure. 
  • Parking at the guest’s own risk: We are not liable for any damages or break-ins. Please see section 12. Force Majeure.

12. Force Majeure

  • The hotel shall not be held liable for any loss, damage, injury, or inconvenience caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, pandemics, or other emergencies. This includes any damage to personal property, vehicles, or any medical emergencies experienced on our premises.

  • These terms and any disputes arising from them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any legal proceedings shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
