How Long have You Been a wedding and events manager?
“I’ve officially been the Wedding and Events Manager since 2022 when I took on the events side, before that I was the Wedding Coordinator focussing solely on weddings. I actually came to the Penventon for a Reception job in 2017 and instead was offered a role in Events due to my previous experience, then shortly after that I was offered Weddings to nurture and build. It took off from there!”
Walk us through a typical Working day
“Every day is different so it’s really hard to do, I could be in the office, in meetings with couples getting married, planning parties, or setting up events. There’s such a range to the role.”
What advice would you give to someone planning their wedding?
“Don’t get worried about the little things, everything will come together in the end – even when it feels chaotic. We’ve always got your back and can talk things through.”
What’s your favourite part of Wedding and Events Management?
“Watching a couple get married, seeing the calm that comes over a nervous bride as she walks down the aisle as sees her partner, it’s a beautiful thing.”
It’s almost Christmas Party Season – what are you looking forward to?
“The parties, the music, the dancing and seeing everyone having a really good time makes the hard work worthwhile.”
Why should someone plan their Wedding and events With us?
“The staff are amazing at what they do, not only do you get a beautiful place to celebrate but also a team to work with you to plan your dream event and make it work on the day, nothing is too much trouble.”
Which fictional character are you most like?
“Everyone tells me I am like Mary Poppins – getting things done effectively and efficiently with a little bit of sparkle and magic.”
Who’s your favourite band or singer
My favourite singer would be Megan Trainer. She’s sassy, full of fun and sings about body positivity and empowering women which I love.”
Where is your favourite place in Cornwall and why?
“My favourite place in Cornwall is the Helford – you can always find a quiet space away from busy life, the water is so calm and clear to swim and I love sailing there with my Dad and Brother.”
