St Piran’s Festival | 2nd March 2024 | External Event
Kicking off Cornwall’s 2024 event calendar is the St Piran’s Day Festival in Redruth. St Piran’s Day is a significant celebration in Cornwall, honouring the patron saint of tin miners. The festival originated as a tribute to tin miners but has grown into a widespread celebration of Cornwall’s greatness. Legend has it that St Piran, thrown into the sea in Ireland with a millstone, discovered tin in pouring from black rocks, inspiring the Cornish flag. We’re gearing up for a day of Celtic festivities so stay tuned for more details!

Described as ‘The most rambunctious garden fête.’ Happening at Scorrier House on the edge of Redruth from May 31 to June 2, this family-friendly festival promises an unforgettable experience in the heart of Cornwall. Festival goers can look forward to live music, artist workshops, karaoke, great food, and lots of entertainment for the kids. Comedy Night – Allo Allo Basil & Co | 7th June | Internal Event
New in Cornwall – Kernow Comedy Dining Company are hosting comedy dining experiences in Cornwall surrounding the characters from ‘Fawlty Towers’ and ‘Allo Allo’ with one of the first to held at the Penventon! With recognisable characters such as Basil & Sybil Fawlty, Rene & Edith Artois, plus others like Manuel, Crabtree, and Yvette it’s sure to be a riot. More to be announced at a later date.

Falmouth is brilliant at celebrating its nautical history and embracing Cornish heritage. The Sea Shanty Festival held in June every year is a nod to the past and a celebration of the songs of the past and present. During the festival, the whole town gets involved with dozens of venues throughout Falmouth hosting their own sea shanty celebrations throughout the weekend. Stithians Show | 15th July 2024 | External Event
This family-friendly agricultural show is the perfect blend of tradition and entertainment, creating an atmosphere where every visitor can find their own slice of enjoyment. With music, food, crafts, animals and displays/demonstrations for the whole family to enjoy.
Boardmasters | 7th – 11th August 2024 | External Event
The popular Cornwall music festival, which takes place on Fistral Beach in Newquay is set to return for another glorious weekend of sand, sea, surf and music. Lorde, Liam Gallagher and Florence + The Machine headlined the festival last year, with many more acts joining them on the bill, this year’s headliners are Stormzy and Chase & Status, with more being announced soon!
St Ives September Festival | 14th – 28th September 2024 | External Event
St Ives is one of the most enchanting towns in Cornwall, becoming even more vibrant during its annual 15-day ‘extravaganza of music and arts.’ The festival transforms the picturesque seaside town into a vibrant hub of performances, films, open studios, workshops, talks, with an abundance of art. Our most iconic event is returning this year, even bigger and better than ever! We’ve not yet announced this year’s theme, but we promise… it’s killer.
Lowender Festival | 25th – 27th October 2024 | External Event
Lowender, the festival that celebrates Cornish culture and its Celtic connections, is returning to Redruth. Expect Cornish music, dance, song and fun for all the family with a host of international Celtic performers from Brittany, the Isle of Man, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Music performances, dance sessions and workshops will be taking place in locations across Redruth town. Don’t miss out on this celebration of all things Cornish culture.
Christmas and New Year’s Eve Events:
Keep an eye out for the return of some of Cornwall’s most loved Christmas events, from Christmas markets to light switch-ons, and family-friendly activities throughout the festive season to join in with. Our annual Mistletoe market will be returning this year, as well as Truro’s Big Christmas Market, and Redruth in Lights – our local Christmas light switch-on, which will be held on November 30th.
