Experience an early spring in Cornwall.

Spring in Cornwall arrives a little earlier than in other parts of the country thanks to the Gulf Stream and mild Cornish climate. Each year, six of the Great Gardens of Cornwall keep an eye on their blooming magnolia trees, and once each tree has reached 50 blooms, spring is declared in Cornwall! It’s one of the most beautiful times of year to visit Cornwall, so we’ve put together a ‘Top 5 reasons to visit Cornwall in Spring’ list for you.

And, did you know that kids stay free with us this Easter break? See more here.

1 | The Great Bloom Of Cornwall

Spring in Cornwall is when the magnificent gardens come to life, with plenty of local and exotic blooms to explore there’s never been a more perfect time to snap a picture of the family with a vibrant Cornish backdrop. Experience the county flourishing to life, after a long Cornish winter, there’s nothing better than strolling around Trebah, or exploring The Lost Gardens of Heligan and seeing the gardens bursting with life and colour. Cornwall’s native plants can be just as beautiful as the exotic ones found in some of the famous gardens, and you don’t want to miss the blooms along the wild coastline.

2 | Dip Into Warming Waters

Spring is the perfect time for your first sea swim of the year. With the water warming and winter storms dying down, a dip in the sea is the perfect way to invigorate the senses. Take a dip in Portreath or hire a surfboard and catch some waves at Porthtowan. And if you’re feeling adventurous you can always explore some of Cornwall’s many secluded coves and natural rock pools.
