Everlasting Family Memories Made in Cornwall

Family time is all about creating those unforgettable memories and The Penventon Park Hotel is positioned perfectly for a family break in Cornwall.

Located in central Cornwall just off of the A30, The Penventon Park Hotel is within close proximity to  some of Cornwall’s most loved beaches and attractions. Build sand castles and splash around in the rockpools on Gwithian beach, spot the seals from Mutton Cove or climb to the top of the castle on St Michael’s Mount. We pride ourselves in helping you to create those bespoke moments and to escape the ordinary alongside the company of your loved ones.

Seals at Mutton Cove

Often the large colony of grey seals can be found throughout the year at Mutton Cove. Take the South West Coast Path to Godrevy (National Trust) and take in the spectacular views over to St Ives before reaching Mutton Cove. The drive from the hotel to Godrevy is only 10 minutes long but it’s best to plan for low tide so you don’t miss the seals whilst their out catching their dinner.

Discover the St Ives Bay Railway Line

Soak up the views from the comfort of the train and enjoy what incredible scenery West Cornwall has to offer on one of the UK’s most scenic train lines. The railway line hugs the coast by Hayle Towans and Carbis Bay before arriving in the buzzing town of St Ives where you can explore white sandy beaches or stroll through the quaint cobbled streets which are lined with eateries, Cornish bakeries and boutique shops. Redruth train station is just a ten minute walk from The Penventon Park Hotel – catch the train to St Erth where you can then jump on the St Ives Bay branch line.

Picnics at Tehidy Woods

Tehidy Country Park offers 250 acres of tranquil woodland and lakes to explore. Being the largest woodland area in West Cornwall, Tehidy Woods is located on the north coast between Gwithian and Portreath and is only a ten minute drive from The Penventon Park Hotel. One of our favourite local picnic spots, Tehidy is a wonderful area for children to explore on bikes or feet, feed the ducks and finish up with a piece of cake from the visitor café.

Indulge in History at St Michael’s Mount

There are a few places in Cornwall that have been labelled as the “must visits” and St Michael’s is definitely one of them. Located in Marazion, walk over the causeway during low tide for an adventure that will take you back in time. The Castle has been home to the St Aubyn family since 1650, however the earliest buildings on the mount date back to the 1200s. Of course, there are many myths and legends behind the history of the mount, including the story of the Giant Cormoran. St Michael’s Mount is approximately 25 minutes from The Penventon Hotel by car.

Learn at the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth

Located in Falmouth, the multi award winning National Maritime Museum is home to 15 galleries that look into the influence of the sea through its history and culture. A voyage of discovery, the National Maritime Museum is a great day out for the whole family. Their major exhibition Titanic Stories looks into the tales of the Titanic’s momentous sinking on 15 April 1912 and delves into many of the myths, controversies and assumptions that still linger around one of the most well-known historic events of the 20th centuries. Falmouth is only a twenty five minute drive from The Penventon Park Hotel and is a creative hub full of quirky boutique shops and unique eateries.
