Due to open late 2011 the Heartlands Project is right on the doorstep of the Penventon Hotel.
The Heartlands is a £35million project that will transform 19 acres of mine
land in to a unique cultural space for the community and visitors alike to play
, live, work and learn.
Heartlands will include an exciting mix of new uses and activities –
World Heritage Site centred around the old Robinson Shaft at Pool,
performance and event areas, business space, community facilities,
play and relaxation spaces, artworks – all set within a dramatic new park
The Eden Project
Just a short drive from the Penventon Hotel, through the stunning Cornish countryside stands one of the Counties biggest and most visited landmarks.
The Eden Project was built in Cornwall in a disused clay mine, transforming it into a rich, global garden where people can learn about nature and get inspiration about the world around them.
But they do much more than offer a memorable day out in Cornwall. Eden is an educational charity and social enterprise and much of our energy goes into:
- running transformational social and environmental projects on our doorstep and around the world
- creating unforgettable learning experiences for students
- putting on fantastic arts, theatre and music events
- creating stunning gardens as well as doing valuable research into plants and conservation
