Come rain or shine, Cornwall is brimming with activities and attractions for days out with the family. For some inspiration for what to do with the Children, or if you’re just a big kid yourself, here are some activities offering great fun for all!
A rainy day, or that one film you've been dying to see? You can walk or drive to the bottom of Redruth Town to the recently refurbished Regal Cinema, where the smell of popcorn entices you in. Sit back, unwind and enjoy the movie!
Theatre lovers, visit the Hall For Cornwall in Truro and experience top shows, comedy and music! There are a range of different shows, both for the family, couples or friends. Whether you want to listen to Old School tunes or watch a show full of laughter and audience participation...there’s something for everyone. You can check out what’s on, on the Hall For Cornwall website.
Retro roller skates, neon headbands and big hair is back in fashion. Listen to 80s music as you skate around the Roller Rink in Redruth, with disco lights flashing around the room. This is the ultimate guilty pleasure if you love a bit of cheesy disco. If you're a complete beginner and have never skated before, here's your chance to pad up and give it a go!
Close to home, just two miles from Penventon, it’s your chance to ride on horseback! Learn how to trot along the mineral trials and care for your own horse for the day, at Wheal Buller. Or go further afield to Newquay Zoo to watch and listen to the huge lion's wild roar, howls from the cheeky monkeys and other animals from all around the world!
For animal lovers
I stayed at Penventon Park a lot in late 2014 and the first few months of 2015 and was never disappointed. Food was always excellent, as was service and the inclusion of a pianist in the restaurant is a lovely touch.
