“Such a lovely Christmas afternoon”

Last week we hosted the Camborne & Redruth Disabled club’s Christmas get together –  It is the 40th year that we have hosted this annual event!

With the function room decorated with Christmas Delights, the atmosphere was already set for a fabulously festive afternoon!  As the guests arrived, conversation and laughter was abundant, the staff kindly donated their time arranging the Christmas Buffet which the hotel generously donated.

Mrs Pascoe, Proprietor of the hotel, has work on every Disabled club event for the last 40 years and has many fond memories; she said “I can remember my children rushing home from school every year to help make this event a happy one for all who attended”.

Alvine Holmes, Secretary of Camborne & Redruth Social Club said “We are extremely grateful to Mr and Mrs Pascoe as well as to the staff of the Penventon for providing members of the Disabled Club with wonderful hospitality each year. In spite of physical difficulties our members enjoy themselves and it gives them a lot of pleasure to go out and meet up with each other instead of being at home alone. Our visit to the Penventon provides an exciting start to Christmas and is a special occasion highlighted in everyone`s calendar each year”.

After the buffet there was a Christmas sing along which everyone enjoyed – Getting us all in the Christmas mood!

Alvine Holmes added “Thank you to everyone at the Penventon for making our members feel so special with the care and attention they receive. There was a great deal of laughter and happiness during the afternoon which is clearly evidence of a very successful visit!”
