Penventon Park Hotel was bursting with colour on Saturday night in aid of our Breast cancer awareness charitable evening. I am sure many would agree that Redruth had never seen such a beautiful array of pink! Brenda Pedley; our chief organiser of the event and breast cancer survivor was over whelmed by such generosity and support shown by the community and guests in joining the ongoing fight for women’s survival.
As a result of the evening, over £1000 was raised for breast cancer research. Not only did many guests donate individually; the hotel also donated £5 from every meal ordered from our pink menu, as well as generous tips given by staff. As guests entered the hotel, they were given an outlet for their kind words of support to place on a display board for others to see- written on pink handprints. Some of our guests who had been personally affected by breast cancer found it comforting and encouraging. An impressive amount of raffle prizes were to be won later on in the evening which really tied up the evening nicely with a pink bow! One of our guests commented ‘This evening was a complete success! Another guest commented- ‘An incredible display of community support. ‘The whole hotel was full of smiles, tears and laughter. It was definitely a memorable event to be had by all.’ We would like to give a big thank you to our staff and guests for taking part.
A special thank you goes to Steve Petty from Cornish Decorative Balloons, who provided us with a selection of beautiful displays filling the interior of the hotel, making it a real pink sensation! Another Thank you to Polgoon Vineyard for providing us with our pink bubbly for the evening, and last but not least, Brenda Pedley ,who put every effort into making this night a special one. In her own words- ‘I knew it would be a good night, because it always is when we hold an event at the Penventon Park Hotel. However, last night surpassed all expectations, it was fantastic! The atmosphere was electric and it was plain for all to see that not only were the guests who were dining having a great time but the staff as well. Thank you all so much, we haven’t stopped talking about it all day.’ To sum up, on behalf of everyone here at Penventon- Here’s to making a difference- Thank you.
